The Center for Sustainability invites you to a variety of events this fall.
Ongoing Harvest Days Events
Pumpkin Composting
Nov. 4-Dec. 6| 8 a.m.-5 p.m. | PA (W1) parking lot
Donate an item for the SBNC; drive up and drop off pumpkins, gourds, corn stalks, and hay bales. No paint or glitter please.
Follow the signs to the bins marked "Pumpkins" and "Food Pantry Donations."
Food pantry needs — we have plenty of canned vegetables in stock but are short on these items: canned meats, meat pasta sauce, chunky meat soup, canned fruits, peanut butter, whole grain cereal, whole wheat pasta, personal care items, diapers, wipes.

Harvest Lunch
Wed. Oct 2 | 11 a.m.-1 p.m. | Food Court/COM Dining Room
Enjoy a farm-to-table vegetarian lunch featuring produce from 赌钱app可以微信提现’s student-led Open Petal Farm. Anyone may purchase this buffet-style meal. Lunch is $5 per person (after tax).
Cider and Sunset
Tue. Oct. 8 | 4-7 p.m. | 赌钱app可以微信提现's Open Petal Farm (park for free at the Police Academy)
Cider and Sunset is a free come-and-go event that includes farm tours, alumni speakers, games, apple cider, light snacks, and more. The event is open to anyone—including kids! Fresh farm produce will also be available for purchase (so please bring cash).
E-waste E-waste and Scrap Metal Recycling
Drive up and drop off
Oct. 9 | 9 a.m.-1 p.m. | Lot Y-12 (SW corner of campus behind ITC, follow signs)
Must show a college ID or business card to participate — students, staff, faculty only.
E-waste Recycling
Computers and networking equipment, video and gaming equipment, communication equipment, home and pro audio equipment, medical and lab equipment, office equipment, home appliances and kitchen equipment, lawn and garden equipment (no gas or oil), electronic exercise equipment, photography and lighting
Fees for these items (cash or check collected at event):
- Cathode tube TVs or CRT monitors, projection TVs, flat screens – $20-$50
- Freon containing items such as freezers, fridges, A/C units, dehumidifiers – $10

Scrap Metal Recycling
Old grills, patio furniture, wheel barrows, screen door and window frames, gutters, downspouts, rakes, shovels, metal fencing, railing, shelving, hardware, tools, metal posts, pipes, plumbing fittings, saw blades, metal rims (no tires), license plates, light fixtures (no bulbs or ballasts), wire, insulated wire or cable, Christmas lights, ovens, washer/dryer, garbage disposals, water heaters, electric motors, hedge clippers, bicycles, filing cabinets, weight lifting equipment, ironing boards, pots and pans, popcorn tins, home decor

IRC Climate Change Series: Sustainability Across Industries*

The intersection of sustainability and business development spans across a vast number of sectors, including three that exemplify Kansas City's status as a global leader in innovation.
